The literary break-fast is moving online due to the coronavirus situation. You are invited to join us, this time virtually, on Thursday, 17 December 2020, at 7 p.m. This time, the guest will be a literary critic, poet, and the Knight of Poetry / Vitez poezije Denis Škofič. Denis Škofič (1985, Murska Sobota) graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Maribor in Slovenian Language and Literature. He was the editor for prose and literary criticism at the student magazine »Liter jezika«, in which he also published poetry, prose, and essay-critical texts. He also publishes his critics in the newspaper Večer, the journal »Jezik in slovstvo/Language and Literature« and »Primerjalna književnost/Comparative Literature«, and he is also the author of the foreword to the collection of poems of Lučka Zorko »Vreščeče čeri«. As part of the Roma culture festival Romano Čhon, he held a lecture, »Gypsies in Contemporary Slovenian Prose«. As a poet, he has so far contributed to several magazine and radio publications (Dialogi, Lirikon, Liter jezika, Literarni nokturno). He has been a finalist of the Poetry tournament several times. In 2019 he became the Knight of Poetry/Vitez poezije (together with Nina Kremžar) at the Poetry Tournament, organized by The Pivec publishing house. In 2013, he published his poetic debut in the Beletrina book collection at the »Student Publishing House/Študentska založba«, entitled »The Bird Walker/Sprehajalec ptic«, which was nominated for the Jenko Award. In 2017, Cankarjeva založba published his second collection of poems  “Seganje/Reaching”, which was included in the broader circle of nominations for the Jenko Award. He lives and creates in Dolnja Bistrica in Prekmurje.
