From August 31st the Gallery Rigo in Novigrad is hosting the exhibition of artist Goran Tomčić : “SHIMMERING HEART, GOLD”
During the X-OP Residency in Novigrad, Croatia (2009), Goran Tomcic installed the next partof the “Shimmering Heart” series: the “Shimmering Heart, Gold”. This installation is his first totally holographic installation in Croatia.
“Shimmering Heart” is as a series of five monochromatic exhibitions in green, red, blue, gold, and silver. The first installation realized, “Shimmering Heart, Silver” (Participant Inc., NYC, 2005) was comprised of a rectangular heap of one million little Mylar hearts (one million silver, heart-shaped sequins on the gallery floor), surrounded by three walls wallpapered with a collage made from numerous patterned, self-adhesive silver holographic films.

International meeting of media artists: symposia, workshops, presentations, screenings, exhibitions
The theme of this year’s Mediascape is titled “Beyond Horizon”. While the city or the urban area is regarded as the area of development, fast progress, and in addition the absent-minded, superficial and disconcentrated perception, the area of the “landscape” is in contrast the place of peace, collection and leisure. In the countryside outside the city the perception of space and time win other values.
The landscape encourages for curving: the view, the hearing, the smell and the thoughts win perspective, which the area of the landscape opens. This leads also to a slowing down and a sensory perception, to a concentration, which is another as those of the city.
