We kindly invite you to our fifth Literary break-fast of this season that will take place on Thursday, 4 November, 2021, at 7 p.m. We will be hosting the writer, critic, publisher and many more, Gabriela Babnik. The talk will be moderated by Tonja Jelen.



Gabriela Babnik
 was born in 1979 in Goeppingen, Germany. She studied Comparative Literature and Literary Theory and has a master’s degree on the modern Nigerian novel. Since 2002 she has been regularly publishing literary critiques, interviews, commentaries, reports and essays in daily newspapers and literary magazines. Her first novel, Cotton Skin (Koža iz bombaža), was awarded the Best Debut Novel. Her novel Dry Season (Sušna doba) received the EUPL Award in 2013, and has been translated into fifteen languages. She is also a recipient of the Stritar Award. She was the vice-president of the Slovenian Writers' Association and the president of the JAK Council. She is currently translating the novel from Binyawange Wainane – One day I will write about this place. Also, a novel about Baudelaire and Jeanne Duval – Silence, Full of Wind, will be published next year.
