Literary break-fast:

Barbara Korun

On Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 7 p.m., we are kindly inviting you to attend the fourth Literary break-fast of this season. Our guest will be the poetess Barbara Korun, this year’s nominee for the Jenko Award for her poetry collection Idioritmija. The talk will be moderated by Tonja Jelen.



Barbara Korun, a poetess, critic, essayist, was born in 1963 in Ljubljana. After graduating from The Department of Slavistics and Comparative Literature, she taught literature at Ljubljana grammar schools and worked as a lector and playwright in various theatres. She is currently self-employed in culture. She has published seven independent poetry collections while fifteen have been translated, and has received several Slovenian and international awards. For the ninth year, she has been leading reading assemblies with Slovenian contemporary poets, Poets on poets. She is the receiver of the Veronika Award for her poetry collection I’ll Be Right Back (Pridem takoj).
