AVAMAA is a 5 Day art symposium which includes: – artistic workshops and artistic projects +1 Day final exhibition and “Honey for the Ears” live concert and performance evening. This year AVAMAA will be produced in cooperation with X-OP, a gradually growing network of artists, researchers, operators, producers and cultural institutions with the aim to establish an European platform for the creation of art.
More Information‘New Maps of Time’ is a workshop about sound and project about mapping spaces (architectural and natural) using sound sound as a means to understand our presence within these spaces. It is about exploring subjectivity and territory through sound, bridging acoustic processes with digital communication… The project process works with the basic understanding that artistic creativity can be a ritual by which we live out and share the subjectivity of our own experiences. This inherent subjectivity must be understood not only as an intellectual notion but through means of participatory activityon different levels of personal, collaborative (between artists) and contextual actions (interventions in a space).
More Informationmedia in motion invites a photographer for a two-weeks residency stay in Zagreb for the beginning of October 2010.
The residency coincides with the MediaScape exhibition, which is an art event organised in Zagreb from October 8th – 29th. The event introduces and gathers together artists, under the theme „The Year We Make Contact“. The residency-guest should have a „media concrète“ approach in the broader sense of Pierre Schaeffers theorem which emphasized the importance of play (jeu) in the creation.
More InformationArt School MAA invites an artist, writer or curator for a one-month residency stay in Helsinki for the month of November 2010.
The residency coincides with the ‘X-OP Festival’, which is an art event and seminar organized in Helsinki from 5th to 14th of November. The event introduces and gathers together artists, in whose work characteristic is societal action and engagement. It aims at introducing this kind of artistic practices throughout its range, from urban interventions to utopian visions, guerrilla-architecture, new genre public art, social sculptures, project based social practices and street performance. As part of the event a seminar is organized which is dealing with art education and knowledge production in art.
