Exhibition by the Canadian artist Don Ritter. The artist presented his video and sound installations Vox Populi, Digestion in Badlands.
Vox Populi – a video projected crowd of 28 people yells “speech, speech” and encourages visitors to speak from a lectern equipped with a microphone and a teleprompter that displays the text of historical political speeches. When a visitor assumes the role of leader by delivering a speech through the microphone, the text scrolls on the teleprompter, the crowd responds with varying degrees of hostility, support or ridicule, and the leader’s speech is mixed with the screaming of the crowd through a large sound system. There are no indications within the installation that the speeches on the teleprompter are from influential leaders, including John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr, and George W. Bush.
Digestion – interactive video and sound installation Badlands – multi-channelinteractive video and sound installation.More Information

International meeting of media artists: symposia, workshops, presentations, screenings, exhibitions
The theme of this year’s Mediascape is titled “Beyond Horizon”. While the city or the urban area is regarded as the area of development, fast progress, and in addition the absent-minded, superficial and disconcentrated perception, the area of the “landscape” is in contrast the place of peace, collection and leisure. In the countryside outside the city the perception of space and time win other values.
The landscape encourages for curving: the view, the hearing, the smell and the thoughts win perspective, which the area of the landscape opens. This leads also to a slowing down and a sensory perception, to a concentration, which is another as those of the city.More Information
